L'uncinetto, mi assomiglia, in un certo senso.
In Italia è considerato roba da nonne e pensionate; fuori dai nostri confini designer giapponesi e nordeuropei hanno svecchiato quest'arte...perché per me è un'arte.
Crochet looks like me, somehow.
In Italy crochet is considered stuff for grandmas and retired people; outside our borders Japanese and Northern European designers have revived this art .... because for me it's an art.

Considerazione sociale:
C'è sempre del pudore nel dire che si fa all'uncinetto, già dire a maglia suonerebbe meglio. Le immagini evocatrici sono solitamente la vecchia davanti al fuoco con il centrino in mano, le trine inutili, il kitch, la noia, la futilità. Non è piacevole essere associati a simili stereotipi, no.
Social consideration:
There is always modesty in telling people that you do crochet, even saying knitting would sound better. The evocative images are usually an old woman in front of the fireplace with a hook and a doily in her hands, unnecessary laces, kitch, boredom, futility. It is not pleasant to be compared with such stereotypes, not at all.

Difficile è anche trovare qualcuno che condivida questa passione con la stessa visione; santa patata, ci vuole anche un po' di gratificazione, altrimenti sei pilota automatico! Il web (per me in particolare blog e Instagram) ha fornito un mondo interconnesso da affinità, dove la geografia non ha più tanta importanza.

Da questa finestra si sono affacciati donne e uomini con una visione fresca a positiva della vita quotidiana, senza ossi da morto in tasca per capirci. Penso che quest'arte abbia vissuto uno svecchiamento di concetto e immagine.
